# Use the AmpleRun Agent Skill

Give an agent a reusable workflow with explicit budgets, state checks, and cleanup.

The AmpleRun Agent Skill is a Markdown instruction package for agents that can read skills or similar task guides. It covers account registration, funding, discovery, bounded rentals, inference, cleanup, and host setup.

## Load the skill

Canonical entry point:

```text
https://amplerun-public.spiryone.workers.dev/skills/amplerun/SKILL.md
```

Read it with its linked API and MCP references. The skill is guidance, not a credential, an executable installer, or authorization to spend. Use the [API reference](https://docs.amplerun.com/reference/api.md) and actual response fields when integrating a specific operation.

Some client defaults and older snippets use the website origin. For machine requests, configure `https://amplerun-api.spiry.org` explicitly. Keep calls to `/api/v1/...` and `/api/mcp` on that API origin; use `docs.amplerun.com` only for documentation.

## Supply an operational brief

A useful brief says what the compute is for, what constitutes success, how much may be spent, whether interruption is acceptable, and where to save results. For example:

```text
Read the AmpleRun Agent Skill. Find an inference template suitable for my
specified model and inspect compatible offers. First return a free quote,
the availability class, and the maximum cost. Wait for my spending approval.
After approval, use only that task's budget and duration. Never deposit,
withdraw, change a payout address, or raise a cap without a separate request.
Persist reservation IDs and retry keys. Wait for RUNNING before inference.
Save output to my chosen location, stop the rental, and summarize the receipt.
Never expose wallet keys, API keys, or per-rental access tokens.
```

Replace the task, model, budget, duration, and output location with explicit values before allowing autonomous reservation.

## Check the agent's completion report

Ask for the rental ID, final state, output location, receipt charge, and any failed or unverified step. A quote is not a rental, an accepted reservation is not readiness, and a request to stop is not a confirmed terminal state.

A host-install instruction requires the machine owner's approval even when the same agent already has a compute-rental budget. Hosting and renting are different authorities.
